On April 29, a regular meeting of the SME Development Council operating under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia was held at the Ministry, chaired by Deputy Minister of Economy Rafayel Gevorgyan.
The meeting was attended by board members, guests from various public agencies, including the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice, the State Revenue Committee, State Cadastre Committee, leading financial structures in the leasing market, and representatives of the Business Support Office funded by the UK Government and supported by the EBRD.
During the meeting, the proposals related to the simplification of the process of liquidation of leasing transactions submitted by the members of the SME Development Council were discussed in detail.
The proposals submitted by the SME Council envisaged the establishment of certain features in the leasing process related to the cadastral registration of certain types of property for the alienation of the property of individuals later with leasing.
During the meeting the participants discussed definition of a simplified liquidation procedure for legal entities that have not been operating for 5 years in a row and do not have tax liabilities, which will allow legal entities to carry out liquidation activities without any professional knowledge in the field.
Taking into account the fact that the mentioned issues need more in-depth and comprehensive consideration, during the meeting it was decided to set up a working group with the involvement of all stakeholders, in the scope of which all possible solutions will be discussed with legal formulations, and as a result, draft laws will be submitted to the government.
