On May 3, 2021, the RA Acting Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Armenia Bolat Imanbayev.
During the meeting Vahan Kerobyan emphasized the dynamic development of the Armenian-Kazakh trade and economic cooperation and expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries has a great potential for activation and development. The following areas of cooperation were singled out: trade, high technologies, solar panels production, jewelry production, and agriculture.
The prospects of cooperation between leading companies operating in the field of high technologies in the two countries were discussed, and possibilities of organizing joint meetings and business forums for their strengthening and expansion were outlined.
Vahan Kerobyan raised the issue of logistical problems between the two countries, which hinders the process of rapid development of trade and economic relations. Ambassador Bolat Imanbayev informed that during the political consultations between Armenia and Kazakhstan the reopening of the direct flight between Yerevan and Nur-Sultan was emphasized by the two sides. In this context, establishment of a wholesale logistics center in Armenia can be considered.
At the end of the meeting, the RA Acting Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Armenia agreed to promote effective and active cooperation between the two countries within the framework of their powers. Discussions on areas of cooperation and works aimed at their implementation will be ongoing, of which the public will be regularly informed.
