Vahan Kerobyan received the representatives of “SGS Inspection Services Limited” company

On March 4, 2021, the RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan received the Executive Director of “SGS Inspection Services Limited” Ali Ebrahimzadeh and the Head of the Armenian Office Hamidreza Goli. The Deputy Minister Varos Simonyan also took part in the meeting.

The guests briefly presented the activities of SGS company, noting it is one of the world’s leading companies on inspection, verification, testing, and certification, which has more than 2,500 branches and laboratories around the world.

The Minister was informed that the scope of work of SGS company is quite wide spanning from mining to textiles, food, beverages, medicines, etc. The company provides certificates on both quantity and quality that are compliant with both international and national standards.

Issues related to the effective organization of cargo transportation through the territory of Armenia, realization of inspection and control of goods at the loading and off-loading points in the territory of Armenia and abroad, simplification of customs procedures and documentation, as well as introduction of electronic systems for customs value determination were discussed during the meeting.

A specific reference was made to realization of the company’s investments in Armenia and the possibility of providing large-scale expert services in accordance with international standards.
