On January 27, 2021, the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan met with the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Wictorin. The meeting was attended by responsible employees of the EU Delegation to Armenia and the RA Ministry of Economy.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the process of implementation of the section Trade and trade-related items of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), assistance programs provided by the EU to Armenia within the framework of Armenia-EU trade and economic cooperation, support programs provided by the RA Government to mitigate the negative effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, as well as the EU budget support program “Covid-19 Resilience Contract for Armenia” envisaged by the EU, the “GSP+” preferential trade regime, developments in the sectors of trade and investment, current support programs provided in the tourism and SME sectors support, and “Amber Capital” EU-Armenia SME foundation.
Importance was attributed to the sectoral reforms implemented in the trade and economic sector in the Republic of Armenia under the EU assistance programs and the forthcoming processes, as well as the process of formation of priority areas for support under the 2021-2027 multi-annual indicative programme to be provided by the EU to Armenia, as well as further strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
