On December 2, 2020, the newly-appointed RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan received Alexander Karner, the Head of the Austrian Development Agency’s Coordination Office for Technical Cooperation for the South Caucasus, and Nora Alanakyan, the Deputy Head of Yerevan Office of the Austrian Development Agency.
The Deputy Ministers of Economy Arman Khojoyan and Tigran Gabrielyan took part in the meeting.
During the meeting, the guests briefly presented the main mission of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), particularly the projects and initiatives implemented by ADA in the agricultural sector of Armenia. The prospects of developing the bilateral cooperation were touched upon, and the most rational directions for the new joint programs were discussed.
The Minister Vahan Kerobyan stressed the importance of taking joint measures aimed at the increase of the current projects’ effectiveness.
Afterwards, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the RA Ministry of Economy and the Austrian Development Agency on expert advice and consultancy assistance on development of policy and legislative framework. The memorandum was signed by the RA Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan and the Head of the ADA Coordination Office for Technical Cooperation for the South Caucasus Alexander Karner.
The memorandum envisages rendering expert and consultancy assistance to the RA Ministry of Economy for the objectives to design the agricultural development policy and improve the legislative framework through provision of the necessary conditions for the Green agriculture development in Armenia.
