The main goal of the Industrial Astaciculture (crayfish development) Project for 2024-2026 in the Republic of Armenia is to promote the introduction of modern industrial crayfish technologies in the Republic, and to stimulate local production through partial reimbursement and compensation of investment costs.
The Project proposes setting crayfish breeding complexes of 3 types:
Small industrial crayfish plant covering a total area of 460 m2 with a productive capacity of 6 tons, with the approximate (maximum) indicator of investments and production costs of the complex set at AMD 72000 thousand.
Medium industrial crayfish plant covering a total area of 800 m2 with a productive capacity of 12 tons, the approximate (maximum) indicator of investments and production costs of the complex set at AMD 129900 thousand.
Large industrial crustacean plant covering a total area of 1000 m2, capacity of 18 tons, approximate (maximum) indicator of investments and production costs of the complex set at AMD 183790 thousand AMD:
Within the framework of the program, the Government support will be implemented within the years of 2024-2026 through partial compensation of expenses with reimbursement of 50% of the expenses incurred on investments, but not more than 50% of the cost set for each expense item.
The Project assumes the creation of four small, one medium and one large crayfish breeding complexes every year.
To participate in the Project, the respective Beneficiary will have to submit to the Ministry the following documents:
Prior to the compensation, the representativre assigned by the Ministry shall carry out an on-site inspection in order to figure out the facts of availability of the equipment, necessary property, young crayfish and parental individuals of the maternal composition for cultivation , as well as the completion of construction and installation works, and further the complex operation factors, drawing up an appropriate protocol of the on-site inspection held.
