Industrial Аstaciculture Development Project in the Republic of Armenia for the years of 2024-2026

The main goal of the Industrial Astaciculture (crayfish development) Project for 2024-2026 in the Republic of Armenia is to promote the introduction of modern industrial crayfish technologies in the Republic, and to stimulate local production through partial reimbursement and compensation of investment costs.

The Project proposes setting crayfish breeding complexes of 3 types:

Small industrial crayfish  plant covering a total area of 460 m2 with a productive capacity of 6 tons, with the approximate (maximum) indicator of investments and production costs of the complex set at AMD 72000 thousand.

Medium industrial crayfish plant covering a total area of 800 m2 with a productive capacity of 12 tons, the approximate (maximum) indicator of investments and production costs of the complex set at AMD 129900 thousand.

Large industrial crustacean plant covering a total area of 1000 m2, capacity of 18 tons, approximate (maximum) indicator of investments and production costs of the complex set at AMD 183790 thousand AMD:

Within the framework of the program, the Government support will be implemented within the years of 2024-2026 through partial compensation of expenses with reimbursement of 50% of the expenses incurred on investments, but not more than 50% of the cost set for each expense item. 

The Project assumes the creation of four small, one medium and one large crayfish breeding complexes every year.

To participate in the Project, the respective Beneficiary will have to submit to the Ministry the following documents:

  1. Request Application  
  2. Personal Identification Document
  3. A copy of the certificate of ownership of real estate property, and  if additional constructional  development has been carried out, also the  copy of the Certificate of state registration of the right to build (building permit) or the  copy of the Lease Agreement;
  4. In case  the registered right to real  property is related to  common joint or shared property, the consent of the co-owner(s) of the real  property with notarized certification shall be submitted as well;
  5. ACRA Credit Report on fair credit history;
  6. Reference statement on tax liabilities implementation;
  7. Тhe Contract Agreement concluded with a supplier or suppliers for the supply of complete equipment for the crayfish complex, the necessary appliances and inventory, as well as young crustaceans for planting and appropriate parent individuals for cultivation;
  8. In case of a planned construction, the appropriate construction permit;
  9. Architectural constructive design concept (in the case of raising new buildings  or buildings under reconstruction) that meets all  the criteria set forth by the Projects  for such complex in accordance with the requirements set by  the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Armenia No. 596-Ն dated March 19, 2015 (hereinafter referred to as the Decision);
  10. Consumptive water use Agreement concluded with a respective water supply company.

Prior to the compensation, the representativre assigned by the Ministry shall carry out an on-site inspection in order to figure out the facts of availability of the equipment, necessary property, young crayfish and parental individuals of the maternal composition for cultivation , as well as the completion of construction and installation works, and further   the complex operation factors, drawing up an appropriate  protocol of the  on-site  inspection held.
