The goal of the program on “State assistance for ntroduction of small and medium-sized greenhouses” is to increase the area and production volumes of ​​greenhouses through state assistance for construction of small and medium-sized greenhouses and their technology provision, raise the level of competitiveness of the produced products, and contribute to increase of income of business entities operating in agriculture.

Three options are offered for construction of greenhouses and their technology provision:

1) Option 1: a tunnel greenhouse of 300-600 sq.m with a single- or two-layer polyethylene film and enriched soil mass, whereby costs for its construction and technology provision are estimated at 11,850 AMD per square meter. The costs compensation is provided at 4,000 AMD per square meter, and at 6,000 AMD per square meter to citizens who became disabled as a result of realizing military duty or military operations during military service, business entities operating in the settlements of border communities receiving social assistance pursuant to the RA Government Decree No.1444-N of December 18, 2014, agricultural cooperatives, young people (18-35 years old) engaged in economic activity in agriculture, higher and secondary vocational educational institutions and scientific-production organizations of agrarian profile.

2) Option 2: a greenhouse of 800-3,000 sq.m with a single- or multi-flight polyethylene film and enriched soil mass, whereby costs for its construction and technology provision are estimated at 24,550 AMD per square meter. The costs compensation is provided at 8,000 AMD per square meter, whereas for those who have privileges as defined by Option 1 the compensation is provided at 12,000 AMD per square meter.

3) Option 3: a greenhouse of 800-3,000 sq.m with a single- or multi-flight polyethylene film by hydroponic cultivation method, whereby costs for its construction and technology provision are estimated at 30,000 AMD per square meter. The costs compensation is provided at 10,000 AMD per square meter, whereas for those who have privileges as defined by Option 1 the compensation is provided at 15,000 AMD per square meter.

The business entities constructing tunnel greenhouses with a production area of 300-600 sq.m, due to the size of the land plot, have the opportunity to build no more than two greenhouses with a total area not exceeding 800 sq.m instead of just one greenhouse on the same land.

Due to the peculiarities of the greenhouse construction, which is being implemented at the same time, the business entities have the opportunity to allow a deviation of up to 10% from the set maximum area without reimbursing the costs incurred for the additional area.

A prerequisite for enrollment in the program is a certificate of participation in training courses organized jointly by the Armenian National Agrarian University Foundation and the International Center for Agribusiness Research and Education (ICARE) Foundation.

To benefit from the program, a business entity shall apply to the Ministry by submitting an application, a copy of the identification document, a copy of the registration certificate on real estate ownership (use or lease). In case of presenting a registration certificate on use or lease of the real estate, the consent of the real estate owner shall also be presented for construction of a greenhouse, whereby the term of use or lease of the real estate shall not be less than six years from the submission date of the application.
