On January 22, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Edgar Zakaryan, met with representatives of several SMEs operating in the jewelry sector.
The discussion focused on the recent increase in the turnover tax rate, which rose from 5 percent to 10 percent as of January 1.
Edgar Zakaryan addressed the concerns raised by the business representatives, providing clarifications on the issues discussed.
The meeting also covered the state policy in the jewelry sector, the available state support tools, and potential opportunities for improving the sector’s tax framework.
Concluding the discussion, the Deputy Minister encouraged the participants to compile proposals on the challenges raised during the meeting and submit them to the Ministry for consideration in improving the current legislative regulations.
