Minister Gevorg Papoyan participated in the panel discussion "Business Dialogue EAEU-Iran" as part of the Third Eurasian Economic Forum, held in Yerevan.
The discussion covered key topics aimed at advancing trade and economic relations, including strengthening cooperation between the EAEU and Iran, establishing a free trade zone, developing sustainable infrastructure, and addressing issues related to the North-South corridor.
"According to Armenia’s Statistical Committee, trade turnover between Armenia and Iran reached $692.4 million in 2023. Armenian exports to Iran totaled $94.5 million, while imports amounted to $597.9 million, reflecting positive trends in our economic relations. Key sectors like agriculture, the food industry, and industrial goods already form a substantial portion of our trade. However, our aspirations go beyond current achievements. Guided by the agreement between the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Iran, we aim to increase mutual trade to $1 billion in the coming years, and ultimately to $3 billion. This ambitious target requires expanding product variety, improving logistics infrastructure, and establishing new trade channels," stated Gevorg Papoyan.
