On May 2, Deputy Minister Tatevik Sargsyan participated in a seminar focusing on the implementation of a system for numbering and registering animals in Armenia. The seminar featured special guests and speakers including Ulrike Forberg, a veterinarian from the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), and Ruth Fischereder, Head of On-Site Inspections at AgraMarkt Austria (AMA).

Also in attendance were Deputy Head of the Yerevan Office of the Austrian Development Agency Nora Alanakyan and Director of the CARD Foundation Gagik Sardaryan. The program, titled "Animal Numbering and Registration Systems in Armenia," is being carried out with funding from the Government of Armenia by the Agricultural Services Center (SNOC). Financial and technical support for the project is provided by the Austrian Development Agency through the CARD Foundation.

Deputy Minister Tatevik Sargsyan expressed optimism about the project, stating, "The successful implementation of this strategically important project will certainly help improve food security and the competitiveness of local products, enter new markets, and develop the field of veterinary medicine."

During the seminar, speakers provided insights into the Austrian veterinary system, including its structure, certification/accreditation system for veterinarians, public and private veterinary services, and the operations of small slaughterhouses in Austria. They also discussed rules, regulations, laws, as well as incentive and sanction mechanisms.

Following the presentations, there was a question and answer session where attendees had the opportunity to address their queries and concerns.
