On June 9, 2021, the Acting RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan received the delegation of the German company TeamViewer AG led by the Chief Operating Officer Karl Markgraf and Chief Technology Officer Mike Eissele. The RA Deputy Minister of Economy Narek Teryan also participated in the meeting.

Vahan Kerobyan greeted the representatives of the German company and underlined the importance of development of information technologies in the economy and application of new technologies. Referring to the fact that the activities of the RA Government are aimed at development of innovations and knowledge-based economy and formation of a business-friendly economy, Vahan Kerobyan informed the RA Government intends to transform Armenia into a regional IT and high-tech hub.

The German company representatives presented their programs, projects, and opportunities, which they intend to implement in Armenia. Assigning importance to their presence in Armenia and work with Armenian specialists, they expressed willingness to contribute to making Armenia one of the globe’s most important centers of digital technologies. Karl Markgraf noted with satisfaction that there is a mutually beneficial cooperation with the RA Government and the RA Ministry of Economy, and with its expansion it will be possible to achieve good results in the sector’s advancement.

During the meeting, the possibilities of expanding the activities of TeamViewer AG in Armenia were discussed. Vahan Kerobyan noted that the activities and programs of the German company will enable the use of modern technologies, transform the activities of Armenian companies in accordance with the world’s modern models and apply them in the economy.

The parties stressed the necessity of digital transformation, application of modern technologies and technological transfer in order to meet the challenges of the world.

The meeting participants agreed that in the field of information technologies Armenia has a number of competitive advantages, a great human potential and specialists striving to work in synergy with the world.

The Acting Minister expressed readiness to continuously support the implementation of the company’s programs and discuss further actions and format of joint initiatives and cooperation. He also suggested considering the possibilities of cooperation with Armenian companies.

TeamViewer AG is a global software technology company that develops and distributes worldwide solutions for telecommunications, helps industry companies digitize vital business processes through trouble-free networking devices. It is also widespread in Yerevan and has been operating successfully in Armenia for many years.
