After a long break, Armenia again presented its tourism potential at the MITT Moscow tourism exhibition which took place on March 16-18, 2021, in Moscow. With the support of the Tourism Committee of the RA Ministry of Economy, 20 tourism companies from Armenia participated in the exhibition.
The largest tourism exhibition of Russia and CIS countries attracted participation of 1,500 companies from 229 countries, including Armenia that was presented through a unified pavilion.
One of the first visitors to the Armenian pavilion was Zarina Doguzova, the Head of RosTourism, who had a meeting with the Acting Chairman of the Tourism Committee Alfred Kocharyan to discuss the scope and prospects of bilateral cooperation.
During three days the Armenian pavilion, at the effect of joint efforts of Armenian tourism companies and Tourism Committee, managed to attract the attention of Russian visitors and colleagues from various countries due to the variety of its tourist offers: adventure tourism, gastronomic tours, wine destinations, Yerevan-based and regional festivals, real experiences, world cultural heritage and others.
The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the Russian Federation contributed to decoration and unique presentation of the Armenian pavilion.
On March 17, 2021, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Russia, under the lead of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vardan Toghanyan, hosted the Tourism Committee and the Armenian tourism sector representatives who were in Moscow at that time. The Ambassador emphasized the importance of presenting Armenia’s tourism potential in Russia during such difficult times, as well as further strengthening of the Armenian-Russian ties. During the reception, Ambassador Toghanyan handed a souvenir to the Acting Chairman of the Tourism Committee Alfred Kocharyan. Representatives of Russia’s tourism businesses were also invited to the meeting.
It should be noted that prior to this exhibition, on March 9-12, 2021, the Tourism Committee, together with 21 travel companies, enjoyed their online participation in ITB Berlin - one of the largest international exhibitions.
