On February 12, 2021, a discussion presided by the RA Deputy Minister of Economy Varos Simonyan was held on ensuring the unity of measurements and solving the problems registered in the spheres of conformity assessment.
The discussion was attended by the officials of the Market Surveillance Inspection Body, the directors of the “National Body for Standards and Metrology” CJSC and the “National Accreditation Body” SNCO, as well as the head of the Ministry’s Department of Quality Infrastructures Development that coordinates activities in this field.
The participants of the meeting presented the problems registered during the implementation of surveillance functions by the employees of the Market Surveillance Inspection Body in case of approval of the type of measuring instruments and application of the type of measuring instruments that passed the process of calibration in accordance with the RA Law “On Ensuring the Unity of Measurements”.
The issues registered during the implementation of surveillance functions in the bodies designated for conformity assessment in the spheres of legislative metrology were discussed, as well as the legal regulations defined by the RA Law “On Accreditation”, the RA Law “On Ensuring the Unity of Measurements”, and other legal acts regulating the sector.
As a result of the discussion, the possible legal solutions aimed at settlement of the presented problems were clarified.
