The RA Ministry of Economy hosted the inaugural meeting of the program implemented by the European Union on strategic consulting and capacity development to ensure the necessary processes aimed at the smooth and effective cessation of use of “Cognac” geographical indication for goods originating in the Republic of Armenia.
The meeting was attended by respective representatives of the EU Delegation to Armenia and the RA Ministry of Economy, as well as European experts involved in the program implementation.
In his welcoming speech addressed to the participants of the meeting, the RA Deputy Minister of Economy Varos Simonyan stressed the importance of implementation of the provisions of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement and effective realization of the goals and objectives envisaged by the program being launched within this framework.
During the meeting, the EU experts presented detailed information on the stages of the program implementation, timelines, and necessary activities, which was followed by an engaging and effective discussion.
