On February 2, 2021, the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Armenia Nicolaas Jacob Schermers, who is the first resident Ambassador of his country to Armenia.
According to the Ambassador, the economic cooperation between Armenia and the Netherlands has a serious potential for development, and it is necessary to achieve results that will satisfy both parties.
Minister Kerobyan welcomed the opening of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Yerevan, noting that it provides new opportunities for development of cooperation between the two countries.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to strengthening of economic ties between Armenia and the Netherlands, in particular, views were exchanged on Armenia’s investment climate, as well as the sectors of agriculture and tourism.
Nicolaas Jacob Schermers expressed readiness to inform Dutch companies about Armenia’s investment opportunities and work actively to promote collaboration.
The parties agreed that continuous meetings will help raise issues, problems, and programs, and their solution and implementation will contribute to strengthening of the Armenian-Dutch economic ties and the growth of trade turnover.
